BELTANE            April 30

Celebrate the Wedding of the Goddess and the God.  The young God emerges into manhood and joins with the Goddess and so life starts again.  We celebrate her fertility.

The ancient Celts lit the Beltane Fires in their fields to protect and bring the promise of fertility to the coming crops.  By invoking the powers of the sun, the promise of health, luck and protection would be upon them.  This is a very important time, their lives depended upon the crops that would be planted for survival.

We can't be setting fires in our back yards (well most of us can't).  But we can light a candle and place it in our cauldron, or fill the cauldron with fresh flowers and surround the cauldron with burning candles.  The cauldron represents the Goddess and the candles represents the God.  With this symbolism we celebrate the return of fertility and the magick the Goddess holds.

Colors are white and green.

Blessed Be
